Samsung Galaxy Tab Lands at Rogers Tomorrow for $539 on Contract

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has just recently hit Verizon’s shelves, and is coming soon to U.S. Cellular and AT&T, but we’re getting it up here in Canada too, eh? Rogers has just announced that the Android tablet is going on sale for a whooping $539.99 on a three-year contract starting tomorrow.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab’s screen is 7″ diagonally with a 1024 x 600 resolution, packs two cameras (3 and 1.3 megapixels), Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and has either 16 GB or 32 GB of local storage (only 16 is listed with Rogers right now), depending on your model. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo, complete with Flash support and mobile hotspot functions. Rogers is qualifying the Samsung Tab as a Rocket Built-In device, so you’ll be snagging it on a mobile internet plan between $30 and $65/month.

The Galaxy Tab probably won’t grow into its own until it gets updated to Android 3.0, by which time I’ll likely be knee-deep in the BlackBerry PlayBook. Those who got in on the tablet craze early and picked up an iPad may be interested in something a little more portable, but taking that much of a hit in screen real estate may be too much to bare.

Head over to Rogers to nab the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but take a gander at our hands-on with the thing before taking the dive.
