Sony Reader hitting iOS, Android in December

This one’s for existing Sony Reader device users. If you also happen to own an iOS or Android powered smartphone or tablet, you’ll be glad to know that Sony Reader will release the native application for the two platforms in December. In other words, you will be able to transfer all of the books you’ve purchased from Sony’s ebook library to your smartphone (or tablet) or purchase new titles.

Feature wise, the upcoming app will allow readers to bookmark, take notes, highlight text and adjust font size to make the “process” more enjoyable and interactive.

If you hate waiting – both Amazon and Barnes & Noble already have their iOS and Android offerings on place. At the end, it’s a matter of personal preferences – I love Amazon, but I know some other folks who hate it (not that many, though). Needless to say, Apple has its own iBooks service…
