Navigation software company Magellan launched an updated version of its RoadMate application for the iPhone. There are few new things included in the version 1.3:
- LifeTime Live Traffic – which enables users to avoid traffic congestion by comparing current and proposed alternative routes. The great thing is that this is the life time feature and not something you need to purchase every year (or month).
- Location-based promotional offers and coupons – this feature shows relevant location-based offers while your destination is being routed. You can choose to re-route to the sponsor’s storefront or save the promotional coupon(s) for redemption at a later time.
- Points of Interest (POIs) sharing – ability to share interesting locations with your friends via email, Facebook and/or Twitter. Inside a “sharing message,” your friends will get a link which can be opened by RoadMate in case it is installed on the device you’re sending a message of recommendation to.
