Award-winning children’s science writer Seymour Simon wants its slice of the mobile action. Hence he has teamed-up with YAPPER (Your APP makER), which is a do-it-yourself mobile application maker service, to launch its mobile application for the iPhone and Android. The end result is called “Science Fun To Go” and is available as a free download for the two hottest platforms.
Designed to serve as a “one-stop resource for the work of Seymour Simon,” the application features a direct feed of his blog, content from SeymourSimon.com, audience interactivity, “Read-To-Me” functionality and lots of humor that makes it fun to learn. Furthermore, there are videos, including an interview with Seymour Simon and trailers for his newest Collins/Smithsonian books, and “Fact or Fiction” quiz with new questions featured each week.
Additionally, Science Fun To Go also rocks some premium features that take advantage of YAPPER’s in-app purchase capability via PayPal. For instance, users can download/buy Simon’s original eBook (illustrated by Dennis Kendrick) entitled SILLY DINOSAUR RIDDLES, which will exclusively be available through the mobile application for the first 30 days…
UPDATE: Science Fun To Go is still not in the AppStore nor Android Market. It should be available on Tuesday, December 7th.
