Nimbuzz has updated its Android application with… (drums please)… high definition (HD) quality voice calls. The company is relying on a new peer-to-peer calling system, which combined with HD voice codec from Global IP Solutions (GIPS), makes HD quality calls possible. As a result, calls are connected faster, providing crystal clear quality and fewer dropped calls.

In addition, Nimbuzz 2.0.2 for Android also comes with other enhancements, including:

  • Ability to install the application on the SD card to save space on phone memory.
  • Updated My Profile page from where you can control status, communities, NimbuzzOut credits and profile information.
  • Revamped Contact List layout with status icons (available, away, busy) on the right, display pictures on the left and community icons in the bottom right corner.
  • Personalization with the N-World option and free avatars.

You can download Nimbuzz 2.0.2 from the Android Market or by pointing your mobile browser to get.nimbuzz.com.

In addition to Android, Nimbuzz plans to introduce HD quality calls on other platforms, including PC, Symbian and iPhone.
