Opera Software announced a new carrier partner for Opera Mini – Three UK. As a result, even those with low-end feature phones will be able to get a decent web browsing experience by downloading the free application from Three’s portal. Moreover, as Opera’s web browser comes with the data compression technology, users will even end up paying less.
And now that Opera won Three’s UK division, we’re hoping the deal will be extended to other markets served by the carrier.
Commenting on the news, Three UK’s Director of Products and Services Charlotte Blanchard said: “We want to bring the benefits of a great mobile Internet experience to all handsets, whether smartphones or not. Opera Mini helps us extend that experience to an even greater range of devices.”
On the other hand, Opera Software’s VP of Mobile Products Dag Olav Norem said: “We are excited to join forces with Three to make sure even more people get online with their mobile phones and make use of the full Web even on the go.”
