
ChangeWave released results of its November survey which it conducted among 1,641 business IT buyers to give us a close-up look at first quarter corporate tablet demand. Overall the results are positive, with 7% of respondents saying their company provides employees with tablet devices — up 1-pt since the previous survey in August.
Unsurprisingly, the iPad dominates the landscape with 82% share. Other contenders include HP (11%) and Dell (7%). Moreover, Apple’s product also tops users’ satisfaction ratings with 69% of respondents saying they are “Very Satisfied” and another 28% is “Somewhat Satisfied” with it. The chart above illustrates what users feel about their tablet experiences.

As we move forward, more companies are expected to purchase tablets for their employees. As a matter of fact, 14% of businesses intend to do so during the first quarter of next year to effectively double the number of companies making use of tablet devices. In addition to the three mentioned tablet makers, they [companies] will also be buying products made by RIM and Samsung. Apple will keep its leading position while RIM may get to become the third most preferred option. Not sure I agree Samsung with its Galaxy Tab will sit at the fifth place, but what do I know.
In terms of tablet’s popular business functions, these devices are used for Internet Access (73%), Checking Email (69%), Working Away From the Office (67%), Sales Support (46%), Customer Presentations (45%) and as Laptop Replacement (38%)…
