Hey, the Android 2.2-powered Dell Venue / Thunder is alive after all. Korean service provider KT went official with the device, confirming a 4.1-inch AMOLED display with a slightly-curved Gorilla glass screen and Android Gingerbread, but few of the other specs came out; we can only assume that it still has a 1 GHz processor and 8 megapixel camera.
The Venue joins the Aero and Streak in Dell’s Android lineup, and shares some lineage with the Venue Pro Windows phone which boasts a slide-out keyboard. A traditional slate form factor plus high-end specs and a recent build of Android will likely remedy any difficulties Dell had with their previous handsets, but based on how slowly Venue Pros are getting shipped out, supply might still be an issue.
Although there’s no mention of north American availability, with any luck it’ll follow suit with the Optimus 2X’s release by giving us an announcement in English sometime soon.
