Six months after the original application was launched at Apple’s AppStore, NPR is updating NPR Music. Without further ado, here’s what’s included in version 2.0:
- Swipe-based navigation on the homescreen, offering one-tap access to streams, blogs, top programs and news.
- All five NPR Music blogs – All Songs Considered, Alt.Latino, Deceptive Cadence, The Record and A Blog Supreme.
- Videos in the “Tiny Desk Concert” series
- All Songs 24/7 – a non-stop music channel of every song ever played in 10 years of the show.
In addition, with this release everyone receives a free 12-song music sampler of NPR Music’s favorite new artists of 2010, for download at the iTunes store. The multi-genre mix, selected by the NPR Music editorial staff, includes Aloe Blacc’s “You Make Me Smile,” Sharon Van Etten’s “One Day” and Rita Indiana & Los Misterios on “El Juidero.”
In a nutshell, if you’re enjoying NPR, music and own an iPhone (or iPod Touch), you’ll want to grab NPR Music 2.0. It’s a free application and you can download it from a link below.
