Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, former Nokia CEO, has been living quite the mundane life these days as Stephen Elop, former Microsoft exec, has taken over the show in Espoo. So what does a man do after 30 years of service to a company and then getting shafted for poor performance? Relaxing, apparently. OPK, as he’s often referred to, has been spending a lot more time doing leisurely activities and has turned down offers to work at other companies.
Apparently, OPK has been doing some shopping, tennis, reading and watching horse races in his spare time. He also plans to teach business management to younger folks looking to make a career in business. However, he still serves as chairman of the board of the Nokia Siemens Network.
Being mobile nuts, the first question that pops into our minds is, “What phone is he sporting these days?” Apparently, OPK is using a prototype Nokia E7 that the company let him keep after departure. Well that was nice of Nokia. And what about that glorious and shiny Apple smartphone? OPK says, “I don’t think I’ll ever buy an iPhone.” Bitter or apathetic?
