Samsung i5510 heading to Australia’s Telstra

If we can trust Bluetooth SIG and I think we can, Telstra will be launching the Samsung i5510 in Australia.

Although we haven’t heard that many people dig this particular Android-powered phone, I always thought of it as a winner of the mid-range smartphone segment. The reason is obvious – in addition to boasting a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, the i5510 also comes with a full side-sliding QWERTY keyboard making it easier to text a lot.

Back to Bluetooth SIG. They talk about Samsung i5510T, where “T” most likely stands for Telstra or at least that was the case with some previous models like the Omnia I8000T, S8300T and so on. In other words, we have a strong reason to believe Telstra will be the carrier of choice for this Samsung smartphone.

As for the rest of the i5510’s specs, the list includes a 3.2-megapixel camera, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and a 667MHz processor. If priced correctly, Telstra could easily move a ton of i5510 units or at least me thinks so. 😉
