2011 will be a big year for tablets. That said, we’re glad to see smart companies riding the trend, providing customers with additional ways to use their brand new gadgets.
One such company is DISH Network which launched an app for the growing army of Android tablet owners. The application takes advantage of a bigger screen, requiring that you have a broadband-connected, Sling-enabled device such as the Sling Adapter to enjoy live and recorded TV viewing on your tablet.
In addition, the DISH Remote Access app also allows users to browse and search up to nine days of programming, schedule DVR recordings, manage conflicts, delete shows on multiple receivers – to effectively transform the Android tablet into a fully-functioning remote control.
The application is free to download and in addition to Android tablets, it is also available on smartphones — including the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices. To download it, simply search for “dish remote access” in the Android Market and take it from there.
