BlackBerry toting foodies rejoice! A new version of Urbanspoon has been released that brings BlackBerry 6 support for all to enjoy. Delicious.
If you’ve never tried Urbanspoon before, it’s really quite simple. The app uses the GPS built-in to your Berry (or iPhone, iPad, or Android-powered device) to locate tasty restaurants near you. Once your chordates are located, you can slide the three menus up and down to select a locale, type of food, and average price of a meal. You can even lock any one of these three menus, and randomize the others… or heck, just go completely random and ‘shake’ the menus to randomly choose a restaurant in your area.
When you think you’ve selected the restaurant of your choice, you can zoom-in for driving directions, telephone numbers, get reviews from previous diners, and even submit your own reviews. There’s also an overall rating from all that have eaten at the establishment.
With OS 6 support now on-board, I have a feeling many BlackBerry users will want to grab the latest edition of Urbanspoon. I have to admit, I don’t use Urbanspoon that much, but when I do, it’s always fun, interactive… and in the app always delivers accurate directions, reviews and pricing information. When I sit down at the restaurant, I know much more about the place and know what to expect before I sit down for my meal.
