Novatel Wireless keeps getting accolades for its MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot product. We love the way it works but at the same time wonder whether such a device has a future considering that pretty much any Android smartphone sold today is able to turn your 3G/4G connection into a hotspot. Then again, having a dedicated device has its benefits, too — for one thing, the mentioned functionality kills battery of your smartphone which you need to use for other things, as well.
Anyway, Notebooks.com picked Novatel’s 4G MiFi hotspot as its Best Notebook Accessory at CES 2011. And this is just the latest honor for MiFi, which also garnered the 2010 World Communication Award (WCA) for Best Mobile Device Strategy and the Mobile Village Mobile Star Award for Best Laptop or Tablet Accessory.
