Legendary Wars iPhone game combines tower defense, RTS and RPG genres

After more than a year in the making, Liv Games launched a hybrid fantasy game Legendary Wars for iPhone and iPod Touch. The “hybrid” part means that the game is a blend of traditional RTS, RPG and castle defense game, which is set in a lighthearted fantasy world called Legendaria.

The game offers hours of progression, while each battle is playable in just a few minutes. Each unit has its own special abilities and you can control it individually. There are hordes of varied enemies to beat as well as “exciting boss encounters.”

You will be traversing Legendaria across five zones — from snow covered mountains to deadly desert oases — that are set out to unravel the secrets that surround the mysterious Sunstones. In total there are more than 50 stages with an assortment of characters like Elven Archers, Magical Unicorns, frost-breathing dragons, rabies-infected werewolves and more.

While preparing for the battle, you mine resources and recruit units to send into the fray along 3 lanes of battle. Units can be independently directed to change lanes, advance, retreat, stand guard, or use combat abilities to “overwhelm the enemy.” When in battle, you should collect gems and use them to fortify defenses, bolster resource production and upgrade units…

Sounds fun to me. 😉
