Live coverage: Dell means business

Dell has invited us to a press event in San Francisco today and the invitation only says, “Dell means business.” Could we be in store for some new enterprise-grade smartphones and tablet?

The invitation says, “Please join us for an exclusive look at a new generation of business computing solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of IT and end users.” That could be very business-oriented – think enterprise cloud solutions – but this could also mean cool things for end users.

The company has dipped its toes in the smartphone and tablet spaces with the Venue Pro and the Dell Streak but neither is truly considered an enterprise device that can go toe-to-toe with the BlackBerry. Perhaps we’ll see some high-grade mobile devices that have strong security features like a fingerprint scanner?

As for the IT needs, this could be a strong enterprise mobile software management platform that can handle various smartphone operating systems.

Whatever it is, we’ll be giving you the latest coverage.
