LG announced the Optimus Pad at Mobile World Congress today. The Optimus Pad is an 8.9-inch tablet with a 3D camera, the world’s first tablet to feature this 3D technology. Besides it 3D functionality, the camera on the Optimus Pad also supports full 1080P HD recording. Powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the Optimus Pad will run on Google’s Android 3.0 mobile operating system which is optimized for tablet devices. Other features include a high resolution 1280×768 WXGA display , Google Maps 5.0, 1080P playback, and HDMI out that pushes 3D content to 3D-capable television sets.
