Sony Ericsson confirms the Xperia neo

Sony Ericsson Xperia neoSony Ericsson announced the Xperia neo, a companion handset to the recently announced Xperia pro. The neo lacks the portrait QWERTY keyboard of the pro, but includes the same 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 854 x 48 (FWVGA) resolution and Sony’s Mobile Bravia engine. Other features include:

  • 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon™ MSM8255
  • 8-megapixel camera with an Exmor R sensor, LED flash and HD video recording
  • front-facing 2-megapixel camera
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • aGPS
  • Bluetooth™ technology
  • DLNA
  • HDMI support
  • Wi-Fi
  • microSD expansion: 8 GB included, supports up to 32 GB
  • dimensions and weight of  116 x 57 x 13 mm and 126 grams
  • color choices include blue Gradient, red and silver
  • Google™Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)

The Sony Ericsson Xperia neo will launch globally  in select markets starting at the end of Q1 2011. The remaining details on the Xperia neo and the Xperia pro are available in the press release on the second page.
