Some Nokia C7 and N8 units come with defective screens?

Some Nokia C7 and N8 units come with defective screens?

It’s no secret Nokia has seen better days. Not only it is rapidly losing share in the higher-end of the market, but now some of their better phones, namely C7 and N8, are having problems with a growing number of users reporting appearance of a red-purple color tint in the darker areas of the screen. Other users, however, complained about poor color gradients though that doesn’t look as widespread as the coloring issue.

The problem was reported by a number of websites, Nokia’s own support forums included. It is wildly speculated that the Finnish company uses two different screens for the N8, one of which is most likely causing these problems.

Nokia definitely knows about this, but so far hasn’t released an official statement. We’re not sure whether this can be fixed with a software update but are definitely hoping that’s the case. Either way, I’m sure the Finns will solve the problem, even if they have to replace tons of N8 and C7 units…
