In today’s ever competitive market one would think that mobile phone prices go down all the time. One would be wrong or at least T-Mobile‘s latest move proves the opposite. The Deutsche Telekom owned operator is now asking $250 for myTouch 4G and G2, which is $50 (or) more than previous price tags for the two devices. Two-year contract is still required and there’s no mail-in rebates.
So what gives? Honestly we’ve no idea. I presume T-Mobile is now requiring less-expensive contracts and it that sense this could prove as the right decision. On the other hand, an average consumer may just look at the initial price tag and decide he or she can have an iPhone or some other Android-powered smartphone for less from some other carrier. Alternatively, the carrier may just be managing its inventory with the prices.
Samsung Galaxy S 4G also had a similar treatment. First we heard it will be available for $150, which would make it a really great purchase. However, the price consequently increased to $200… T-Mobile what are you doing?
