Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL, the Galaxy S variant we talked about few weeks ago, is finally ready for the prime time. The all-touchscreen Android smartphone is readily available in Germany and India, with other countries (presumingly) to follow shortly.
Unlike the original Galaxy S, there’s no 8GB model of the Galaxy SL. That, however, doesn’t mean we’re talking about the more expensive device. Quite the contrary, the 16GB Galaxy SL costs less than 8GB Galaxy S. The reason is found in its Super LCD screen that is cheaper than Super AMOLED screen (used in the Galaxy S). Moreover, the SL also comes with a larger battery, which is probably needed to make-up for a non-organic display. Rest of the specs remain unchanged and include such things as 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capability, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and so on.
In Germany, Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL goes for €380, which is about 10 EUR less than the 8GB I9000 Galaxy S. The device is even cheaper in India, with retailer Flipart asking just 315 EUR, making it for a really awesome deal. Super LCD may not be as bright as Super AMOLED screen, but it still rocks…
