Unreal Engine 3 Will Power Four Gameloft Games for iPhone & Android

One of the most impressive mobile games of 2010 had to be Epic Games & ChAIR Entertainment’s Infinity Blade. It was impressive not just because of its addictive and fun gameplay mechanics, but also because it looked absolutely gorgeous running Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. We’ll soon be experiencing more impressively looking games now that Gameloft has announced they’ll be implementing Unreal Technology to four new games, two of which will be released in 2011, while the other two in 2012.

Gameloft has already released a number of games that we found to be visually impressive, such as Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden and Dungeon Hunter 2, so using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 to further improve the visuals of their four games might make them automatic must-have games just by visuals alone. If you don’t believe me, then take a gander at Epic Citadel.

As of now, neither Gameloft nor Epic Games has revealed information regarding the four games Gameloft has currently in the works using the Unreal Engine 3. I’m hoping it’ll be another Gangstar title as that series has always played great, but its visuals weren’t as impressive as other Gameloft titles. Or imagine a new N.O.V.A. title that can look as good as Gears of War?! OK, OK – I’m getting ahead of myself a bit here, but I’m just hoping Gameloft uses the Unreal Engine 3 technology for a worthwhile game and not for a clone for a Cooking Mama game.

What Gameloft series would you like to see get the Unreal Engine 3 touch? Feel free to fire off your thoughts in the comments below.
