People who like Nike trainers, and Mobile devices are probably going to like this story…..

Thanks to a new pan-European mobile marketing campaign, fans of the popular sportswear company will now be able to create their own colour-customised trainers, based on pics they take on their Mobiles. The new service is called Nike PhotoiD.

The idea behind it all is you take a pic, and MMS it to a shortcode in any of nine European territories today – the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The service then analyses the dominant colours, and applies them to a pair of Nike’s classic 1985 Dunk high-top basketball sneakers. The footwear design can be saved as mobile wallpaper or sent to a friend, and they can also buy a pair of the personalised shoes.

PhotoiD is an extension of the Nike iD service that was already operating – anyone interested in Nike iD and the PhotoiD service can go here, and follow the links.
