
NAVIGON released its new Help2Park Android app in the US. Available as a free download, it relies on the phone’s built-in GPS receiver to show parking spaces nearby. By touching a dial, you set the radius you’d like to search in. Then by tapping the “P” symbol, a list of parking options — including addresses and distances from the current location — will be displayed. Alternatively, the spaces can also be shown on a map, and if MobileNavigator is installed on the phone, you can get driving directions to the parking space selected.
In the other NAVIGON news, they also updated MobileNavigator for Android. Version 3.5.4 comes with support for the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread-powered devices and also includes a new pedestrian flashlight function, which allows using the smartphone as a flashlight while navigating in the dark.
