If you’re on a (UK) market looking to grab yourself some rugged Android smartphone, look no further. Amazon UK is offering the Motorola Defy for 251.99 GBP (about $409), which is an awesome deal considering it requires no carrier contract signing at all. For the record, Amazon says that the recommended retail price for this phone is £349.99.
That money buys you an all-touchscreen device with a 3.7-inch WVGA display, 800MHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and 2GB of internal memory that’s further expandable with microSD memory cards.
However, you should know the Defy runs “only” Android 2.1, but Motorola promised to upgrade it to Android 2.2 Froyo. After that we doubt there will be any further updates, though. If you can live with that, go for it. Here’s a link from where you can grab yourself the Motorola Defy from Amazon UK.
