I find it awesome to see mobile publishers, especially smaller companies, succeeding in today’s market. Artificial Life (AL) is one such company and today we have some of their numbers to share. Without further ado, here are the highlights:
- As of 31st March 2011, Artificial Life’s accumulated download total had passed 58 million across its apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7 and Java platforms.
- The company has released 36 iOS apps, with the most successful (but unnamed) title downloaded more than 7.45 million times, and the second and third receiving 3.63 and 3.61 million downloads respectively.
- AL’s paid iPhone games were priced at $0.99-$4.99, with the average price working out at $1.43.
- Out of all Artificial Life’s iOS apps, 26 are based on licensed and branded intellectual property from a variety of partners.
- Artificial Life offers 18 applications free-to-play, 2 games with in-app purchases, and 3 with in-app advertisements.
- When it comes to geography, the company’s apps have been sold in a total of 90 countries worldwide, with titles reaching the number-one spot in 74 of these. Region wise, 43% of downloads were in North America, followed by 34% in Europe and Africa. In terms of success by country, US is leading the way with 39% of downloads, followed by the UK (10%), France (5%), Germany (5%) and Canada (4%).
Next for Artificial Life is going for the growing army of Android users. In that sense, they plan to launch more than 30 titles for Google’s mobile platform…
