Usually we hear about successes of iOS and Android apps. Today our focus is on a Symbian app, eBuddy Mobile Messenger, which has recently surpassed 10 million downloads in Nokia’s Ovi Store. The application dominates the social networking category in more than 15 countries on Ovi Store, and is the first messaging app to reach this important milestone.

eBuddy’s press release goes on suggesting that its users spend nearly 2,000 years per month engaged in messaging, sending more than 2.5 billion messages per month from their Nokia handsets.

As you may know, eBuddy is a cross-network mobile messaging app that enables users to chat for free in one aggregated interface across AIM, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, Hyves, ICQ, MySpace, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. In total, eBuddy’s mobile applications across all platforms have been downloaded over 120 million times, and more than 19 million unique mobile users access eBuddy every month sending over 9 billion mobile messages.
