Appia launches performance based ad network for mobile app developers

Yesterday Opera Software announced Opera Appcelerate, the service that allows developers to promote their apps among Opera web browser users (both Opera Mini and Opera Mobile). Just like Opera’s Mobile Store, the Appcelerate service is also powered by Appia, the company which provides white-label mobile app store solutions.

Alongside Opera, Appia launched its own performance based ad network, targeting developers who want to guarantee ROI from their mobile advertising. The new service works on a “pay per download” basis with developers only paying for results.

Moreover, Appia’s ad network integrates a number of targeting options so that developers can only advertise their apps in select markets and/or to select mobile platform users.

Once registered, developers upload their app to the Appia developer portal, set the bid price they want to pay per download, choose the geographies and platforms they want to target, and select a payment method. Online reporting shows campaign activity, broken down by platforms and geographies.

Finally, it’s worth knowing that since Appia powers other companies’ app stores, developers can reach up to 200 million users. Sounds compelling, don’t you think?
