Qualcomm shows off Snapdragon video

While NVIDIA is getting a lot of good press for the powerhouse that is the Tegra 2 chip inside devices like the T-Mobile G2x (read full review), Qualcomm wants you to know that its Snapdragon processor has plenty of power, too.

In the video below, Qualcomm touts the Snapdragon and its ability to play back HD video. One of the cool things is that it can play 720p HD video in HTML5. Many times in Android, when you click on those videos, it’ll just kick you out to the media player.

It’s not just with HTML5 though, as Qualcomm Snapdragon has been working with Adobe to provide some high-quality Flash playback. There’s a portion in the video comparing the Flash HD video on a Qualcomm device versus a competing product and it’s not even close.

Sure, the company’s obviously not going to be putting out videos which makes its products look bad but this is an impressive display of what Qualcomm Snapdragon can do. We can’t wait to get our hands on the dual-core version on devices like the EVO 3D.
