After the iPhone, Expedia.com is bringing its Expedia Hotels app to the Android community. As a result, those of you with smartphone running Google’s mobile OS will be able to search both for nearby hotels and those located in the other parts of the world.
And it’s not just browsing and searching, you can also access TripAdvisor hotel reviews and see the highest rated hotels clearly marked in search results. Moreover, each hotel page comes with tons of details, images included.
Then there are other nice features, such as super quick booking, requiring only four taps to move from research to purchase; and the ability to get directions to the hotel once booked.
Expedia Hotels also comes with all-new Android-specific landscape views for flexibility on a wide range of Android devices. It is available all around the world, with 20 local currencies supported.
In addition to the Android application, Expedia also released a “set of major upgrades” to the hotel shopping experience on its mobile website. Travelers visiting www.expedia.com from any mobile device can now search via “one-finger navigation,” use location-enabled search to find “Hotels Nearby Tonight” and explore images, guest ratings, user reviews and greatly expanded details for each property and room…
