PrivacyStar has updated its mobile app for Android, adding two new feature users demanded – SMS ID and Directory Assistance (Beta).
Using the first feature, users are able to look-up a number they received an SMS from. Once the number is identified, PrivacyStar provides the ability to add it to your Privacy List or to contacts for future use. Moreover, there’s the option to block further text messages by using the PrivacyStar settings option to block phone calls and text messages from that number.
As for Directory Assistance, this voice activated feature provides business and individual phone numbers along with a mapping functionality. You simply speak or type the number you’re trying to find and PrivacyStar will display the name associated and map the location of the business or individual.
In addition, PrivacyStar also offers call and SMS blocking, caller ID and lookup, and the ever-useful “Do Not Disturb” feature. Perhaps more important, you can report potential telemarketing and debt collection violations so that you help stop those calls for all users.
The PrivacyStar app for Android and BlackBerry smartphones is available for free, with a 7-day trial period. For continued service, the service costs $2.99 per month.
