Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook updated with video uploading

On top of updating the PlayBook’s OS today, RIM has thrown in a few new features into the Facebook app. The biggest addition is the ability to upload videos taken on the PlayBook’s front-facing 3 megapixel camera or rear 5 megapixel camera. Search is now accessible from the title bar, and lets you filter results now. Pages now have better visibility within your friends list. You can delete messages, but unfortunately there’s no word on getting rid of wall posts, which was a feature added to the smartphone client recently. Lastly, there are a few UI improvements, like post commenting in a pop-up rather than separate page, and using the system’s gesture menu.

Facebook on the PlayBook is kind of special because it’s the first tablet-optimized app for the ubiquitous social network. With it, you can comb through the news feed generated by your friends’ updates, handle incoming friend requests, look for friends, and keep in touch with Facebook Chat and messages.

Facebook for the BlackBerry PlayBook is now preloaded in the OS, but if you don’t have it yet, it will be available in App World over the next day.
