One of the best things that Android offers is the ability to change the look and feel of the OS. While the stock Android keyboard is miles better from where it started, there’s still much to be desired. With the large amount of custom keyboards available it can be a bit overwhelming to choose one. Thumb Keyboard is one of our all time favorite keyboard replacements for Android and offers loads of customization.

One of the best things about Thumb Keyboard is that it works for phones and tablets without a hitch. There are several different layouts in case you don’t like the default settings, which range from a split keyboard leaving only the necessities to a full keyboard with a number pad. Of course, some of these layouts have tablets in mind and don’t scale as beautifully to a phone, but with a hefty amount of choices, you’ll be able to find the right layout for you. You can even choose a different layout depending on the phone’s orientation.

Customization doesn’t stop there, though. The keyboard also comes with more than ten different themes to choose from, all of which are very easy on the eyes. Other tweaks include adjusting the height of the keyboard, space bar row, and whether or not you’d like the directional cursor bar at the bottom. The options are vast and will take some fine tuning to make perfect for you, but the default settings are solid as well. It can be a bit overwhelming, but the extra time you spend tweaking the settings will pay off.

Thumb Keyboard is a paid application, but its one of the best keyboards available for the OS, so it may be worth it for you.

If you’re looking for a highly customizable keyboard replacement for your Android phone then Thumb Keyboard should be at the top of your list. Grab it here!
