Relaxation Portal is a new app from SRS Labs, touted as the “most sophisticated relaxation-themed application.” Available for iOS and Android-powered devices, it is said to “put the world at users’ fingertips.” Basically it displays an image of some location, while playing a matching 3D sound (on headphones), allowing you to truly experience the place. Moreover, there are options to turn off some sounds, while increasing the intensity of others, or toggle between night and day modes.

The free version of Relaxation Portal comes preloaded with four locations (Amazon Rainforest, Crete, Martha’s Vineyard and Namibia) with an available fifth location, China (during Chinese New Year), free to fans of SRS Labs on Facebook. And if that’s not enough, there are two expansion packs, each of which adds five new locations. The first pack will get you Salto Angel, Ha Long Bay, Gauchos, Casablanca and Las Vegas; whereas the second comes with Eiffel Tower, Whitsunday Islands, Kremlin Moscow, Ross Ice Shelf and Cape Canaveral…
