Although the unlocked Palm Pre 2 got its webOS 2.1 update back in March, those of you owning Verizon’s or Sprint’s version of the device were not originally included in the mix. We’re glad to see that at least one of the carriers is pushing forward with the webOS updates – Verizon.

As you may know, webOS 2.1 brings tons of changes, including:

  • Exhibition! – which gives you access to few apps such as Time, Photos and Agenda while your Pre 2 is charging on the Touchstone.
  • Voice Dial! – simply press and hold the volume button at any time or tap and hold on the Phone dial pad to fire-up voice dialing.
  • Support for Bluetooth keyboards
  • Backup changes – backed up information now includes call history entries, text messages and instant messages. MMS is still not included for some reason.

In addition, there are several bug and security fixes included in this release, relating to email, messaging, photos and tasks.

Now we would like to know what’s happening with Sprint’s Pre 2. Will it too get the webOS 2.1 treatment?
