There are now doubts in my mind Asus’ Eee Pad Transformer is one of the best tablets out there. The reason is obvious – it’s the only such product that comes with detachable keyboard, which effectively turns it into a smartbook. That said we’re glad to see Asus’ baby hitting more and more retailers in an effort to bring tablets to the mainstream consumer.
Office Depot is joining this trend and has started taking orders for the Transformer both online and through its network of retail stores. They ask $399.99 for the 16GB model and $100 more for the 32GB one. Unfortunately the famous keyboard dock (which makes all the difference) is not included with this offer, and you’ll have to buy it separately. What’s more I couldn’t find it [keyboard] on Office Depot’s website though I’m sure they’ll add it in no time.
Aside from the Transformer, Office Depot also carries other tablets, including the HP TouchPad, Toshiba Thrive, BlackBerry PlayBook, Acer Iconia Tab A500 and ViewSonic G-Tablet.
