It was well over a year ago when AT&T announced the original Pantech Pursuit, alongside 3 other “Quick Messaging” phones. Now its successor has been announced, offering heavy texters ability to “do their thing” without breaking a bank. The vertical-slider shaped device will be available in pink or green on July 17th for $49.99 with a two-year agreement and a qualifying rate plan after $50 mail-in rebate.
Specs wise, the Pursuit II rocks a 2-megapixel camera with fixed focus and 4x digital zoom, QWERTY keyboard, 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth, while Qualcomm’s Brew MP is running the show. In addition, there are “drag and drop shortcuts,” along with pre-loaded social media widgets on one of three sliding home screens for “one-touch access.”
In a nutshell, it’s a device you’ll want to buy to your child, presuming you have one. Once he or she masters the Pursuit II, he/she will be ready for a smartphone… or at least that’s why I see it.
