Pantone is taking the “usual road,” launching an Android app after experiencing some success among the iOS users. Their new application is readily available in the Android Market, offering pretty much the same feature set those of you with iOS-based devices already learned to appreciate (presuming you do run myPANTONE on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad).

In that sense, you can capture, create and share PANTONE Color Palettes while on the go. It is a handy tool for graphic, digital, multimedia, fashion, interior and industrial designers, who may need mobile access to more than 13,000 PANTONE Colors wherever they go.

As for the updated iOS app, it provides designers with CMYK data for all PANTONE PLUS SERIES Colors. Moreover, myPANTONE 2.0 also offers the ability to connect to PANTONE COLOR MANAGER desktop software to upload color managed data for PANTONE Colors based on ICC color output device profiles. Then there are options to calibrate the iPhone display using an X-Rite calibration device (such as ColorMunki Photo, Design or Create, or the new ColorMunki Display, i1Pro or i1Display 2) as well as the ability to print right from the app via AirPrint.

myPANTONE 2.0 for iOS is a free upgrade for current owners, while those who don’t have it will have to pour out $9.99 to grab the app. On the other hand, myPANTONE for Android could be yours for $7.99.
