HTC Weike is the Salsa for China with Weibo rather than Facebook button

We’ve all seen the Salsa, HTC’s all-touchscreen Android smartphone with a dedicated Facebook button — if you haven’t you can check our hands-on post from here. Now it’s heading to China, where it will be available with the Weibo button, allowing users to quickly access the country’s most-popular social networking service. As such, it’s a different device which also has a different name – Weike.

As far as we can tell, aside from a different button, rest of the specs remain unchanged and include a 3.4-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, 800MHz processor, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.

Price wise, the Weike will be available for 3,380 yuan, which is about $525. Kinda pricey, but then again no other device gets you the much-needed social networking fix as easily as this one.

Now I wonder whether ChaCha, HTC’s other Facebook-centric phone, will get the same treatment as well?
