Three UK preps BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Bold 9900

Vodafone is gearing up to launch the Torch 9860 and Bold 9900, but they aren’t the only ones offering RIM’s latest in the UK. Three has announced that the Torch 9810 and Bold 9900 will both be coming their way shortly.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Bold 9900 are around the same tier of quality, though the Bold has the added bonus of a near-field communications chip and premium metal siding (as opposed to the cheap-feeling painted plastic we usually see on BlackBerry smartphones). Otherwise, they both have a 1.2 GHz processor with 768 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel cameras with 720p video recording and LED flash, as well as 640 x 480 displays (though the Torch is a bit bigger at 3.2 inches). We’ve got hands-on time with the BlackBerry 9900 here, and the 9810 here, if you want to take a closer look at how smoothly they run. The new processors really do improve performance dramatically, though the core experience won’t be anything particularly new.

Three didn’t mention anything about prices or release date, but presuming they’re operating on the same timeline as Vodafone, it wouldn’t be crazy to expect either phone before the end of the month for £31/month on a 24-month tariff. Brits can sign up for availability notifications over here.
