Popular location sharing service Foursquare updated its Android application. Even though it’s a relatively small update, we advise you to update the app, nonetheless. Among the new features this release of Foursquare brings, we find:
- Events are now attached to places
- Photos are in-lined in Friends tab
- Venue and check-in details pages are redesigned
You probably already know everything there is to know about Events from our previous post. Now when you’re at a concert, movie or sporting event – you can check-in and share exactly what you’re doing. So instead of checking-in at a theatre or stadium, you can tell the world (your followers actually), you’re at some game.
It’s important to add that Gowalla has been supporting events for quite some time now, though it failed to market its service as much as Foursquare did. And while we’re looking forward to see this market consolidating, big companies like Facebook, Microsoft and Google are unveiling their own such services. Why not acquire some of the existing players, instead?
