Honey, can you vacuum the house? Of course dear, let me get my iPhone

Those words will echo throughout households of the future. The new LG Roboking VR680VMNC (did you get all that?) robotic vacuum is set to debut in Korea this month, showcasing the company’s effort to add advanced tech to appliances. It features three different cameras plus sensors galore to move around the house efficiently and has several different settings for cleaning every little detail. It operates quietly so it can clean at night without waking anyone or scaring the pets away. It can even accept commands through voice control up to 1.5 meters away.

Oh, and you can also control it with your smartphone.

The Roboking connects to the home Wi-Fi network, which enables it to be controlled anywhere you go. The built-in cameras can stream live images to your smartphone as it’s cleaning, so those of you that tend to think about vacuums while you’re out enjoying fine cuisine can fear no longer! Presumably, LG will also release a smartphone app for more in-depth control.

The Roboking VR680VMNC vacuum will sell for 899,000 yen. In America, that equals out to roughly $750, so controlling your vacuum with an iPhone or Android device won’t come cheap. For that price, you might be better off just cleaning your home the old-fashioned way, even though this is clearly the vacuum of the future.
