I don’t know about you, but when it comes to spinning the plastic ones and twos in DJ Hero, I do very well, although I wouldn’t dare enter any competitions. Not after the great DJ Hero disaster of ’09. Anyways – ever since I’ve had the iPad, I have always hoped someone would make a game similar to DJ Hero on it. I mean, we’ve seen EA release Rock Band titles for the iPad, so a DJ Hero game could work. Thankfully, the day is finally upon us where we can finally play a game similar to DJ Hero on the iPad.
Skillz: The DJ Game is, well, a game about DJing. Just like in DJ Hero and other rhythm games, the gameplay has players playing on a musical highway where samples, scratches, and slides will need to be played by tapping parts of the iPad. You’ll get to play a total of 25 remixed songs from artists such as Kid Cudi, People Under the Stairs and Diplo across five venues with six DJs to choose from. A Lite version is also available on the App Store which allows you to play through several select songs from the game for free.
Developer Playpen Studios has stated if the game becomes popular, then they can release more music in the future as downloadable content. An Android tablet owners should take note as they also state an Android version of the game is currently planned.
