SugarSync updated its mobile apps for iOS and Android devices, making it “even easier for users to backup, access, sync and share all of their files and data.”
First let’s talk about the updated iOS app, which now comes with a simple text-editor, allowing users to quickly change existing or create new text files. Of course, if you need advanced formatting capabilities, SugarSync supports third-party mobile office suites like Documents To Go and Quickoffce.
Then there’s a new menu bar that enables users to quickly sort and upload files, and even create new folders on any computer or shared folder. Moreover, thanks to the new offline syncing option, you can download select files and entire folders to have them stored locally and access them in areas where there’s no Internet connectivity around.
As for the changes in the Android application, SugarSync added Mobile Device Management feature, providing users with the ability to view and control the data on their mobile devices from within the SugarSync Web console.
Aside from iOS and Android, SugarSync is also available on other platforms, including BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian. The mobile apps are free to download and so is the basic service that comes with 5GB of storage. Paid plans start at $4.99/month or $50/year, featuring 30GB of storage capacity…
