Dell has apparently started rolling-out Honeycomb update for its 7-inch tablet – Streak 7. Not all users are getting it and we’re having a hard time finding some rule in this process. Is it pushed on a first come – first served basis (users who check for the update get it first), or is it a region-specific thing?
According to some reports, the new version of Android for tablets will wipe your device clean, so you better backup all of your important data before pushing the button.
However, there’s also one additional problem – how Honeycomb performs on Streak 7’s WVGA (800×480 pixels) display? I never thought the platform was optimized to work on such screens. Guess I was wrong…
In any case, if you own the Dell Streak, make sure to have a copy of your apps and data stored on your PC/Mac, just in case something goes wrong. And as far as we’ve heard – you’ll need to re-install everything from the scratch and once again sync your contacts and calendars…
