British retailer Clove has started selling two low-end, QWERTY keyboard-equipped Android smartphones, Motorola Fire and ZTE Tureis. We’re everything but surprised, but have still decided to let you know there are new options for folks looking to switch from BlackBerry to Android. Actually, neither of the two is a great option (after all we’re talking about entry-level devices here), but will definitely provide users with a cheap ticket to the Android world.
The Motorola Fire comes with a 2.8-nch QVGA touchscreen, 600MHz processor, 3-megapixel camera, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, FM radio, microSD card slot, while Android 2.3 is running the show. Clove asks 174 GBP (about $268) for the unlocked device, which you can use on any network in the UK.
As for the ZTE Tureis, it’s even cheaper and slightly more powerful. Specs wise, it comes with a bit smaller 2.6-inch QVGA touchscreen, 800MHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 3.2-megapixel camera and a memory card slot. Again, Gingerbread is running the show. The price you ask?
