When it comes to mobile gaming, I tend to play strictly on my iOS & Android devices mainly because I’m always carrying one or the other on me. To carry around a Nintendo DS or PSP would mean that I’d promise to dedicate some time during my trip to sit down and play games. It’s a shame though because there are a number of great titles on both the Nintendo DS and PSP that I would love to dedicate my time to. Thankfully, one of my favorite Nintendo DS games has officially made the jump to iOS and I couldn’t be more thrilled by the news.
The concept of Scribblenauts is simple: You play as Scribblenauts’ hero Maxwell as he tries to complete a number of puzzles to collect “Starites” by using the power of the player’s imagination. The game’s main selling factor is the player can pop nearly anything into the game to be used to manipulate the game world giving players a number of ways to complete the puzzle.
Scribblenauts Remix was designed exclusively to be played on the iOS platform and brings 40 fan favorite levels from the Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts as well as 10 levels completely exclusive to the iOS version. The game has full touch screen support allowing the player to type out what they’d like placed into the game to then manipulate the game world with it. Controlling Maxwell is as easy as tapping the sides of the screen, or if you’re into a more traditional control scheme, the game gives the option of moving Maxwell via a virtual joystick.
With the release of iOS 5 later today, Scribblenauts Remix is ready to take your game to the cloud with support for Apple’s iCloud service, allowing players to take their Scribblenauts Remix experience across multiple iOS devices. The game even has social media support for Facebook and Twitter to post their favorite objects and high scores.
