As part of the strategy to get a foot in the door of big companies, Samsung launched a new program called “Samsung Approved for Enterprise” or SAFE. The idea is to provide some sort of guarantee that products and services offered by Samsung and its partners are SAFE to be used in the corporate environment.
Here’s Sammy’s elevator pitch:
Samsung enterprise solutions with the SAFE-certification will meet rigorous security criteria and will be configured specifically for enterprise use. The deployment of SAFE solutions leveraging Samsung’s Galaxy smartphone and tablet portfolio will help ensure that any organization’s mobile work force is securely connected to corporate applications and data while away from their desk.
The SAFE program relies on 4 pillars — Mobile Device Management (MDM), On-Device Encryption, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Corporate Email/Calendar/Contacts — and is “offered” (or that’s marketed) with the company’s Galaxy range of devices, both smartphones and tablets.
