A month ago I told you about Fuugo’s Android app. Now I decided to give it a try and see whether it can actually keep me entertained while on the go. To my surpsise (cause I’m not a big fan of watching video content on a mobile phone) – it’s pretty slick, easy to use and depending on the videos you choose to watch – really entertaining.
Once you start the application, you’ll see the homescreen divided in few areas – a “current” area (containing a clickable rotating video banner), “My Fuugo” (where downloads, favorites and recommended videos sit), “Services” (containing selection of video genres to dig in to), and finally the “Favorite Playlists.” This gives you a variety of jump-off points in to the video content, and is always the place you come back to when you’ve finished delving in to a bunch of videos. You can also modify your settings and do searches from the homescreen.

By tapping on the Catalog icon, you can browse videos by genres such as Comedy, Fashion News, and such like. This section actually scrolls much wider than the screen, and also deeper – so you have the ability to check out a lot of videos.
Tap a clip you like and a player screen emerges, showing the selected video plus several related clips. You also have the option to tag the video as a favorite, recommend it (via Twitter), download it in some instances (depends on the provider), or read the info related to the clip.
The Services area also serve as some sort of catalog. Select the genre you want and a secondary screen opens up that presents the actual videos with larger thumbnails…

To sum things up – I like the way Fuugo goes through Internet videos and serves only the cool stuff. Of course, the “cool” is a matter of personal taste, but I’m sure you’ll find something interesting, nonetheless. That said, I’ll definitely keep using Fuugo for some time.
