So far, the Dingleberry jailbreak for the BlackBerry PlayBook has only really provided access to a limited Android Market, but now that it’s been out for awhile, some other folks have managed to create USB host access. That means with a chunky little USB-to-microUSB adapter, you can plug in standard pen drives and access files.
Although having to carry around that clunky adapter isn’t ideal, I guess it’s better than having a thicker tablet to accommodate full-sized USB. There’s certainly some utility for being able to swap around files more freely, and with the right adapters, you could get this set-up to work for SD cards, too.
For those of you eager to get this on your PlayBook, a full how-to is forthcoming. We’ll update here once it’s up. For now, all we really know is that you don’t need to have the PlayBook 2.0 beta installed for this to work.
